Strawberry Delight Vintage Style

Mrs. A. Vintage Finds

Like many people, it seems through the years and almost by default, we end up with a collection of themed items.  For me, it has been Strawberries!  As a little girl, I loved to pick strawberries at my grandmother’s house.  We ate them freshly picked and any other way that Grandma could think to use them.  She had several strawberry beds, but one bed in particular was rather unique.  It was an old and very long wooden canoe.  Because of my love of strawberries, Grandma named me her “Strawberry Girl”.

The transition from Strawberry Girl to Strawberry Collector happened rather slowly, but over several decades I developed a rather plentiful amount of strawberry-themed items.  A couple of years ago, I decided to keep only my most sentimental strawberry treasures and share the others with new homes where they could be appreciated anew.  I began listing them on my Etsy Shop.  Who knew there were so many Strawberry Lovers out there?

Here are two of my favorite listings that sold some time ago:

Vintage Porcelain Strawberry Basket

Porcelain Basket with Strawberries

Vintage Strawberry Canisters

One of my many sets of Strawberry Canisters!

But don’t despair Strawberry Lovers of The World!!  I have more strawberry listings at my shop, and I’m always keeping my eye out for beautiful and useful strawberry-themed items to list.  Here are just a couple of my current listings:

Vintage Strawberry Cookie Jar

Strawberry Cookie Jar

Vintage Strawberry Creamer

Strawberry Creamer

It’s kind of funny because even though I no longer collect strawberries for myself, whenever I am shopping I seem drawn to the strawberry items.  I guess you can pare down the collection of the Strawberry Collector, but you can’t take the strawberry totally out of the “Strawberry Girl”.

I remember when you started collecting. It’s so good to share the love.

Fun collection! I do the same thing. Things I no longer collect, and have even thinned the collection, I’m still drawn to at the sales.

The things we’re attracted to the most are always connected with fondest childhood memories

Thanks for commenting everyone! I’m new to blogging and this has been quite fun to read your comments.

Jas — I think you are right about the attraction being connected to fond childhood memories because strawberries always bring a smile to my face!
