Lefton China Footed Candy Dish with Lid, Happy Anniversary Candy Dish c. 1950s
This elegant Lefton China Candy Dish is stamped on the bottom with a crown and reads "Lefton China Hand Painted". There is a red tag on bottom which reads " Lefton Trademark Exclusives JAPAN". It is also numbered "6290".
The Candy Dish comes with lid. The ball on top of the lid serves as the handle and is trimmed in gold. The rim of the lid is trimmed in gold as well as the feet of the candy dish. The lid reads "Happy Anniversary" in gold. The anniversary bells are silver. The other accent colors are blue, pink and yellow. The background color for the dish and lid is white.
The height of the dish with the lid is about 4" and the width of the rim of the dish is almost 4.5". It is in very nice condition with no chips and cracks.
I have tried to date this dish by the Lefton China stamp, number, and trademark indicators. It appears to me that this is a piece from the 1950's.
It is a stunning candy dish which would make a nice completion to an anniversary celebration, and then, it could be used all year round as a trinket dish to serve as a reminder of that special day!
